IV.  COMMON PROBLEMS AND THEIR SOLUTIONS.

  1. Leading edge of strip length is inconsistent with check leading edge some time it is long, some time short.
  1. The rotating spindle is not spinning because dirt is blocking rotation.
  2. The low friction disc is not in place it should sit on top of the rotating spindle.
  1. Strip is jamming in between pulley-B and the knife in the small funnel like strip guides.
  1. The strip guide narrow section too narrow, the narrow gap between the two guides should be open for at least two paper thickness (0.010 inch).
  2. The register pressure against pulley-c is not enough. release the to the top plate and advance it toward pulley-C a little more and secure the #8-32 screw.
  3. the bottom register pulley does turn, its bearing is dirty, use WD-40 to clean.
  1. Leading edge strip consistently short by about 1- inch from the check leading edge.
  1. Sensor #4 is not adjusted properly. The sensor is secured with #4-40 screw to a small guide, it should be adjusted such that its face is 0.5 inch away from the straight line (thread the strip all the way into pulley-C. Now the strip paper is forming straight line between pulley-B and pulley-C). The sensor face has to be parallel to the strip line.
  1. When dropping document it activate motor but document is not advanced and green led is blinking.

  1. The two shafts that hold the white plastic rollers behind the track assembly got out of their grooves. Place them back in their groves.
  1. Document and strip jam in heater.

  1. Heater ski shoe is loaded with adhesive residue. While the machine is on, clean the heater assembly by folding 5 - inch long strip (with adhesive toward the inside) and guiding it few times through the heater junction. Note the yellow adhesive accumulating on the strip paper.
  2. The ski shoe is pressing too hard against the heater. The ski shoe should barely touch the heater when the heater is on and hot. To adjust it closer or further from the heater, release the #8-32 screws and move in or out, then secure the screws.
  1. Check is not glued straight to strip

  1. You need to adjust the register pulleys. The bottom one stir the strip, the top one stir the check. Use Allen key to release the #6-32 screw in the back of the register rotate the bottom roller 2-3° clockwise (from the vertical when view from front of the unit) this will stir the strip toward
